Monte Bateman was born to Linda Turney & David McBrayer in Ft. Worth, Texas. At the age of 5, his Mom remarried to Loyd Bateman and the new family moved to Houston Texas. Monte graduated from Northbrook High school in the Spring Branch ISD, where he developed a love for all sports! Football, Baseball, Tennis and golf. He often talks about epic tennis matches with his Dad Loyd. No surprise that to this day he spends alot of time on the racquetball court.

In 1989 Monte decided to return to Ft. Worth to join his dad, David McBrayer in the family business McBrayer Piano & Organ. A generational piano family the McBrayer name is synonymous with all things piano in DFW. Being a late beginner in a family of Piano men, there was alot to learn. Naturally being young and strong piano moving was a first. Then gutting, restringing and tuning. Over the course of the next 29 years buying, selling, restoring, restrining, moving, tuning, evaluating/appraising was his daily life. "Over this time, I was blessed to learn my craft from some great men. Though piano men, I found, are quite the cast of characters. I want to thank my dad, David McBrayer, his cousins Brian and Gary McBrayer for showing me three different ways to skin a cat. Uncle Bill McBrayer and Weldon Lovett for teaching me pianos. And to my cousin Danny J McBrayer, for teaching me the piano business and so much more. Many years together, all my Love and Gratitude. And for my dad Loyd Bateman for being a good man every day and teaching me the tools I would need to become a good man myself. LOVE YOU DADDY! And mostly to my Lord and Savior with whom all things are possible."

"So now time to start my own business! It's been along time coming but right on God's time. I'm older now and wanting to spend less time behind a desk and more doing what I really love. Piano moving and tuning with time left for my family and Granddaughter. I am a proud resident of Arlington Texas. And an avid Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan.
